Digital telephone device "Partizan AT"
GENERAL INFORMATION
Digital standalone telephone device Partizan AT is used for the secure telephone voice communication as well as for the secure fax transmissions. The device works with the 2 wire telephone set or a fax modem via Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or a Private Branch eXchange (PBX) using two-wire analogue link. The device belongs to a class of hardware/software electric equipment implemented on the basis of digital signal processors (DSP). The device is powered by a AC 220 Volt (power adapter included). Partizan-AT allows to establish both usual (open) and protected (secure) connections over switched or leased telephone circuits. When connecting in the open mode the leading phone set is acting in usual mode and it “don’t know” about existing of the Partizan AT device. Being in this mode of acting the connection may be used by subscribers for exchanging non-confidential information. In this case they have all functional possibilities of used phones. To set a protected connection the Partizan AT devices must be placed at each end of a telephone circuit. When the connection is operating in protected mode the subscribers can exchange with each other confidential information over the telephone circuit on guaranteed level of security. To maintain the guaranteed level of confidential information protection the device uses the conversion of the analogue voice into the digital form using the vocoders of different speeds depending on the quality of the link. Then the modern cryptographic algorithms implemented in the Partizan AT are used to make the voice secure. In the beginning of each protected session the device generates the secret session key (SSK) for only this session. It is possible for a user to have additional long-time key on the device of the remote participant such as Touch memory of Dallas semiconductor firm chip. Partizan-AT can be controlled using a remote controller (control panel). It is also possible to control the device by the DTMF (tone) signals from the leading phone set. The control signals to start and to stop the protected session may be programmed from a computer with the help of the delivered with the module software. This option allows the Partizan-AT to be used with an office PBAX as shown below.
